St. Louis, December 20, 2004 – The St. Louis Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is introducing Together We Prepare wristbands to the community as a unique way to demonstrate support for Red Cross disaster relief efforts and to represent a pledge to personally prepare for the unexpected. The red synthetic silicone wristbands are on sale now for $2 each, and include the Red Cross symbol and the words “Together We Prepare”. Quantities are limited.
“Emergency preparedness must be a personal priority,” said Nancy Bates, Director of Emergency Services for the St. Louis Area Chapter. “The Red Cross is here to help the community prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters and emergencies. The Together We Prepare wristbands are a great way to directly support the work of the Red Cross in our community while wearing a symbol of individual commitment to preparedness.”
About Together We Prepare Together We Prepare is an educational initiative that was introduced by the American Red Cross in February of 2003 to increase awareness regarding the importance of emergency preparedness. The initiative sums up preparedness efforts in five simple and important steps: 1. make a plan, 2. build a kit, 3. get trained, 4. volunteer, and 5. give blood.
