I am providing administrative support for the Red Cross Emergency Services Director in Hannibal, Missouri. Right now, I am coordinating deliveries to Red Cross shelters in the Hannibal area and various feeding sites. In the area we have shelters open in Canton, Kahoka and Louisiana.
In Hannibal, we have finished all sandbagging and we believe the levee will be high enough for the expected crest. Right now, we are lucky that we don’t have a lot of food runs to go on as the Northeast Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief organization is providing the meals for shelter guests and volunteers.
In each of these shelters and communities, there is a large communal atmosphere where people are there to help each other out.
Bill is a resident of Fairview Heights, IL. For more information about how to help with flood relief efforts, call 314.516.2800 or click here.
