Prepare your Business Minimize
Did you know close to 60% of Americans are wholly unprepared for a disaster of any kind? If employees aren’t prepared at home, who will be there to help keep your business going following an emergency?

"Train the Trainer" is a seminar that teaches you the skills to help your employees be ready for emergencies at home. We’ll give you all the tools (brochures, videos, email templates, and more) that you need to help make teaching your employees about personal preparedness a short, simple and easy process.

These presentations can be conducted at a location and time that is convenient for you and your group. For more information, please contact Elena Sabin at (314) 516.2753.

The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter offers adult emergency preparedness presentations that can be conducted at a location and time convenient for you and your group. We can customize a presentation incorporating multiple modules to best meet your group’s individual needs. Module topics include:

Be Red Cross Ready— There are three actions people should take to prepare for emergencies—get a kit, make a plan and be informed. You’ll learn the importance of having an emergency preparedness kit, making a family disaster plan and knowing the types of disasters in your community and the resources available in an emergency.

Hazard Specific— Natural and human-caused disasters can strike suddenly, at anytime and anywhere. Learn what steps to take before, during and after the disaster so you’re prepared for the unexpected. These modules can be used as a supplement to Be Red Cross Ready or as a standalone program. Participants can choose one from any of the following hazards:
• Earthquakes
• Home Fires
• Floods and Severe Storms
• Tornadoes
• Heat Wave
• Winter Storms

Flu Preparedness— Teaches the signs and symptoms of pandemic flu, the differences between seasonal and pandemic flu, and the steps you can take to protect your family while preventing the spread of pandemic flu to others.

Seniors Preparedness— Designed specifically to help seniors prepare for emergencies, regardless of their physical limitations. Participants learn how to make an emergency preparedness kit, create a family disaster plan, shelter in place and respond to direction from authorities.

Seniors Get READY— Designed to teach seniors how to prevent, prepare for and respond to different emergencies through a fun interactive game of bingo.

Classes are $75 for up to 50 persons ($50 for each additional 50 persons). Ready Rating Members receive a reduced rate of $50 for up to 50 persons ($50 for each additional 50 persons). If you are interested in combining modules, please call for discounted pricing. Due to the generosity of our donors, we are able to provide some presentations free of charge to at-risk populations, seniors and individuals with special needs. If you think your group might qualify, please contact us for more information.
