The St. Louis Area Chapter is offering these free 1-hour preparedness presentations for adults and seniors:
Preparing for the Unexpected - This presentation will help you in preparing for any type of disaster. During the presentation, you will learn the importance of creating and maintaing an emergency family disaster plan, having an emergency supplies kit, and knowing how to seek shelter and respond to directions from local authorities. The specific hazards covered in this program may include earthquakes, fires, floods and flash floods, heat waves, thunderstorms, tornados and winter storms.
Pandemic Flu Preparedness - This presentation will teach you the signs and symptoms of pandemic flu, the differences between seasonal and pandemic flu, and the steps you can take to protect your family while preventing the spread of pandemic flu to others.
Seniors by Seniors - This presentation is designed specifically to help seniors, regardless of their physical limitations. During the presentation you will learn how to create a family disaster plan, build an emergency supply kit, how to shelter in place and respond to directions from local authorities.
