The following programs are offered free of charge for schools and summer day care centers.

Grades K through 2:
Scrubby Bear (30 minutes)
Introduces children to the concept of hand washing and how it can prevent them from spreading illness and becoming sick. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-2, HP-3)
Big Five (30 minutes)
Students learn the benefits of healthy eating, exercising, and sleeping. Students are taught the five healthy food groups using the new food pyramid. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-2; HP-4)
Ready Rabbit (30 minutes)
Ready Rabbit teaches children how to stay warm during a winter storm and what supplies to have in your home during the winter months.
Twister Turtle (30 minutes)
Twister Turtle teaches what a tornado is, warning signs, and where students can go to stay safe during a tornado.
Cool Cat (30 minutes)
Cool Cat teaches kids how to be safe if there is a fire in the home, how to safely get out, and how to avoid breathing smoke.
Disaster Dog (25-30 minutes)
Disaster Dog teaches earthquake safety and where to find safe places inside and outside.

Whale Tales (30 minutes)
Whale Tales teaches children about water safety and rules to follow while swimming or playing near water. VHS player required. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-5; HP-7)
Road Safety (30 minutes)
This program teaches students the importance of wearing helmets and the correct clothing while biking, rollerblading, and skateboarding. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-1; HP-4; HP-5)
First Aid for Children Today (F.A.C.T.) (30 minutes)
F.A.C.T. encourages children to make positive choices to promote health and prevent injuries. Students are educated on first aid basics and safety issues. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-2; HP-4; HP-5)

Germy Jeopardy (30 minutes)
A game designed to teach students the facts and potential dangers of the flu and how to practice preventative skills.
Smoke Detectives (40 minutes)
The Smoke Detectives teach “Count Floyd” about fire safety. VHS player required.
Disaster Dudes (40 minutes)
Through interactive group activities, students learn general disaster preparedness, how to make a family disaster plan and what to do in a variety of disaster situations. VHS player required.
Grades 4 through 6:
Safe On My Own (45 minutes)
Students learn basic safety precautions for staying home alone as well as actions to take in the event of an emergency. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-7)
Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.) (45 minutes)
Students are introduced to safety information, emergency response, and first aid procedures for choking, bleeding, and poisoning. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-2; HP-7)

Disaster Strikes (40 minutes)
Students are put into mock disaster situations and then discuss the best way to respond.
Disaster Challenge (40 minutes)
A game designed to teach students what to do in various disasters such as fire, tornado, earthquake, floods, and winter storms.
Disaster Plan & Disaster Supplies Kit (40 minutes)
Students learn the importance of having a family disaster plan and how to develop a plan and kit with their families.
Grades 7 and 8:
Till Help Arrives (45 minutes)
Students learn how to respond to an emergency as well as the first aid procedures for choking, sudden illness, bleeding, burns, broken bones, strains, and sprains. (*CA-5; CA-6; HP-7)

Students learn the importance of having a family disaster plan and how to develop a plan and kit with their families.
Tornado Preparedness (45 minutes)
Students learn how to prepare for a tornado through group work.

Students learn how to prepare for an earthquake through group work.
