H & R Block
Background:
H&R Block discount for new clients. For each new client referred to have their taxes prepared, H&R Block will provide a $25 program reward to the American Red Cross!
How it Works: To receive the program reward, the referred members must be new clients and they must bring the referral form to H&R Block when they have their taxes prepared. The more new clients you refer, the more money your organization can make and there is no limit to the number of referrals your organization can make!
How to Donate: The program begins January 1, 2010, and continues through April 15, 2010.
Click here for more information and select "Referral Forms."

Mortgage Pledge
Background:
Mortgage Pledge is a network of Real Estate professionals, committed to giving a portion of their commissions back to their clients’ charity or non-profit organization of choice on each refinance or purchase of real estate.
How it Works: On each transaction, a Giving Team is created in order to increase the donation made in your name (typically $300 to $1,000) to the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter.
Their Website: www.mortgagepledge.com.
How to Donate: Through Mortgage Pledge, you are now able to increase the support you offer to the American Red Cross, at no cost to you. Please contact Mortgage Pledge Partner Michael Krupp, 1st Continental Mortgage, or Jason Rebholz, Coldwell Banker, to learn more.

Merchandise Pickup Service
Background:
Merchandise Pickup Service (MPS) sells your donated clothing to thrift shops in the United States where they are then sold to the public. They have been in business for over 30 years. They currently have over 300 donation drop boxes in the St. Louis area. These boxes are wooden yellow boxes, which feature "Clothing Donation Drop-Off benefiting X organization." The Red Cross will be a benefactor of the drop off boxes and they will help set up locations.
How it works: MPS has partnered with the Red Cross to set up donation boxes. The value of your donation is determined by weight - MPS donates 6.5 cents per pound to the American Red Cross. If you are interested in hosting a box on your property to benefit the Red Cross, please contact Corie Story at 314.516.2710.
Their website: www.clothingpickupstl.com.
How to donate: Bring your used clothing to the MPS Clothing Donation boxes that benefit the American Red Cross, St. Louis Area Chapter.

Phones 4 Charity
Background:
Phones 4 Charity program recycles used wireless phones to help the environment and raise funds for a variety of charities.  Most phones are resold as economic alternatives to new phones.  The rest are safely recycled in accordance with all applicable U.S. environment regulations.
How it works: Phones 4 Charity will call businesses, organizations, schools, and groups to set up a phone drop off box at their site. They will ship the organization a box and shipping return information.  When the box is full, the organization will ship the box back to Phones 4 Charity (using a prepaid FedEx label).  Phones 4 Charity will then send the Red Cross and the collection site a spreadsheet listing each phone and what it was worth, with a total amount and a check to the American Red Cross.
Their website: www.phones4charity.org
How to donate: Bring your old phone into the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter to drop it off in our collection box.  If you would like a list of businesses who currently have a box set up, or you are interested in hosting a box at your business to benefit the St. Louis Area Chapter, please call 314.516.2782.
